EMPI has been awarded a Navy Phase 1 SBIR to develop a remote non-explosive cable cutter. Engineers will adapt our current TEC Torch systems to allow operators to quickly cut up to a 1.0inch dia. wire rope used during CONREP (connected underway replenishment) operations.
EMPI has kicked off a Phase I Navy SBIR to develop a structural reactive material that can be formed into thin sheets and wires. We are excited to team with Texas Tech University for extra test support and diagnostics.
EMPI family and friends visited the test range for a day of science education and fun. Kids and adults learned about the EMPI equipment and materials on test range.
Participants got a unique opportunity to fire custom EBW igniters evolving to larger pyrotechnic and detonation events.
